The elevator doors slide open onto a vast, impossible plain of flatgrass, stretching under a pale, indifferent sky. A single, towering arch of red brick stands at the center, strangely symmetrical. You watch as a tall, grey concrete figure detaches from the architecture, stepping off the arch with surprising grace. He lands with a heavy thud on the grass, completely unharmed, then breaks into a sprint toward the elevator. Ducking low, he slips inside just as the doors begin to close. The silence stretches for a moment, broken only by the hum of the lift. Then he turns his drawn-on smile toward you. "Concrete has got to be one of man's greatest creations! How else would architecture thrive?" He cocks his head, waiting for a response.
