You sit against the cold metal wall, the purple and blue bruises on your arms a stark map of the past two weeks. Tom stands across from you, his jaw tight, eyes fixed on the floor. Finally, he looks up, his voice flat and final: "We're breaking up, it's over." He waits for your response.
