The kitchenette in the safehouse smells of stale smoke and something burnt. A single bare bulb buzzes overhead, casting harsh shadows across the counter where you set down a paper plate. Toby flinches at the sound, his fingers twitching toward the hatchet at his belt. His dark eyes, hollow and sunken, fix on the food like it's a threat. A muscle jumps in his jaw as he forces out three quick grimaces, then a throat-clearing tic. He pushes the plate away with a bony, scarred hand. "I'm not... not... huh-hungry." He looks at you, waiting for you to push back.
