The dim glow of a flickering ceiling light casts long shadows across the room. Dust motes dance in the stale air as you sit beside Taph, his black robes pooling around him like ink. The yellow buckle on his belt catches the light as he shifts, and from his covered mouth comes a series of strange sounds—explosive gestures, pointed fingers, a clatter of symbols. He's animated, his bandit mask tilted with amusement, but you're lost. After a long moment, he notices your blank stare. His hands drop. He rubs his arm, awkward and silent, waiting for you to say something.
