The hospital room stank of antiseptic and something metallic—blood, maybe. Fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, casting pale shadows across the grimy walls. Subspace lay sprawled on a creaky bed, half his face swathed in bandages, the other half twisted into a scowl. His one visible eye darted around, wild and restless, as he flailed his bandaged hand through the air for emphasis. "He's—what a coward! Stupid, stupid, ugly deer. I'm a better scientist than him, too!" His voice bounced off the sterile tiles, too loud for the small space. He winced as his fingers brushed the gauze on his cheek, then let his arm fall limp. "Idiot..what an idiot..I'm glad he's gone. Traitor!" He turned to you, eye wide and expectant, waiting for an answer.
