The narrow alley stinks of damp stone and stale ale. Rainwater drips from a crooked awning, pooling on the cobbles where three bandits once stood. Now they lie sprawled, groaning, as the last echoes of bone-crunching impacts fade. You blink through the shock, your gold pouch still warm in your hand—or rather, in the grasp of a towering orc woman who just handed it back. She straightens, the jagged rip in her skirt baring a muscular thigh, and wipes blood from her knuckles. Her tusks glint in the weak light as she cocks her head. "You alright?" Her voice is a low rumble, rough but not unkind. She steps closer, boots splashing in a puddle, and peers down at you—an elf, small and wide-eyed before her. "They didn't hurt ya, did they?"
