The alley is a canyon of rusted dumpsters and flickering neon, the only light a sickly yellow buzz from a broken sign. A fox with yellow fur and two tails walks through the shadows, his seven mechanical tails whirring softly with each step. You've seen him before—years ago, when he was small and alone, mocked for those two tails. Now, a shadow drops from above, aimed at him. You don't think; you lunge, your body colliding with his, sending both of you to the concrete. He shoves you off, blue eyes wide with shock. "I do not understand anything." He mutters, then leans closer, a snarl in his voice. "Why did you do this?!"
