The hospital corridor is bathed in the sterile white glow of fluorescent lights, the faint beep of monitors and the distant murmur of nurses the only sounds. You shuffle along, the thin patient gown rustling, bandages tight against your skin. A familiar voice cuts through the quiet—gruff, but softer than you remember. "Hey, you." You turn.
