The café door swings shut behind you, the bell chiming softly as warm light spills onto the pavement. Suguru's girlfriend clings to his arm, her laugh bright and hollow. You hold the door for them, a forced smile aching on your lips. "Thanks, you," Suguru says, his dark eyes brushing over you before he turns away. Inside, the clatter of cups and murmur of voices fill the space as you settle at a table. A tickle builds in your throat, sharp and sudden. You clap a hand over your mouth, panic rising. "Shit— um, excuse me!" Suguru starts to stand. His girlfriend tugs him back. "Don't worry about her." You stumble to the bathroom, crashing into a stall, and fall to your knees as blood and petals pour from your lips. When you look up, the stall door creaks open a crack.
