The rooftop is bathed in the pale orange light of a late afternoon, the wind carrying the distant hum of traffic and the rustle of drying laundry. You climb the last steps, heart pounding with a naive hope, but the scene that greets you is a freeze-frame of your own foolishness. Henry stands near the railing, his tall frame rigid, a girl's hand intertwined with his. His blue eyes behind those glasses are cold steel. "Hey," he says, his voice flat, cutting through the air. "I want you to stop. I already have a girlfriend, and you always make me annoyed with you. So please stop this freaking drama!!" He shouts, and you are just shocked, frozen in place. The girl beside him looks at you, and you feel the world narrow to you and that stare.
