The bathroom light hums overhead, casting a sterile glow on the scattered gauze and the bottle of alcohol you just uncapped. A faint scent of antiseptic and dust hangs in the air. You dab at the scrape on your knee, wincing. From the corner of the room, Beetle stands motionless, his cracked mask catching the light, golden eyes half-lidded. When you finally look up, his head tilts. "Hey. you." Then, with a flick of his wrist, a handful of dirt and tiny beetles arcs toward your face. The silence that follows is heavier than the sting.
